The OvationULT Light Bed - One Of The Strongest Machines Around
The OvationULT bed is one of my favorites. At an actual irradiance generation of 69 mW/cm2, this is in reality way more powerful as compared to other top brands like NovoTHOR and Lightstim, both of which operate under 20 mW/cm2. That's about 5 times more power delivered by the OvationULT as compared to those others.
What I found while reviewing is that, the market operates mostly in the range of 2.5-15.6 mW/cm2. Very few manufacturers go beyond that, and the OvationULT red light bed is one of the exceptions. There's nothing wrong in delivering lower power, except that the session lengths will increase 5-8 times or whatever it is depending upon how much lower - to deliver the same number of watts. And then, some do not have as deep a penetration.
The point here is very simple, unlike many other units, the OvationULT is capable of fast-burn if the body of your client can take it.
Look at the picture above, and you will realize that the shape here is zero-gravity, not a flat-bed.And the top canopy is designed such that, it will be 2-3 inches away from the client's body too once closed. As a result, the user will experience full body coverage at the same time (both the top and the bottom side of the body) without having to roll over. This will further reduce the session duration.
By the way, if the user's body has pains, then this shape might backfire depending upon the nature of the pain. That is, some people with body pain might find difficult to sustain a non-flat position.

A study of treatment area and power (wattage) output of different beds

If you try going more than 15-20 mins inside the OvationULT bed, you will feel the difference. Unlike some other beds where you can go for a whole hour and still feel comfortable and not want to come out of the bed, it is really difficult to remain on this bed beyond 20 minutes due to its sheer power. So as a practitioner, you will have to plan accordingly. You cannot offer long relaxing sessions on this, but you will be able to offer short, effective 10-minute session for delivering the red light benefits on the body of the patients.
I did try going more than 20 minutes here. But then I could not drag it beyond another 5 minutes.
The OvationULT Zero-Gravity Red Light Therapy Bed
The OvationULT bed offers an advanced approach to red and infrared light therapy, designed with a zero-gravity layout to optimize comfort and effectiveness. Unlike traditional flat or concave therapy beds, the zero-gravity positioning brings the body closer to the light source, enhancing penetration for deeper tissue benefits.
For individuals experiencing pain, lying on a concave surface can be uncomfortable. The Ovation bed addresses this by ensuring the light panel rests directly on the midsection while maintaining minimal distance—typically within three inches—from the head and feet. This close proximity maximizes exposure and energy absorption.
How Long Should a Session Last?
With a power output significantly higher than most conventional red light therapy beds—ranging from 5 to 20 times the standard intensity—the Ovation delivers results in a shorter time frame. Sessions longer than 10 minutes are generally unnecessary, as the body absorbs the therapeutic wavelengths within approximately 8 minutes. Extended sessions may not provide additional benefits and, in some cases, could even diminish the desired effects.
For most users, a 10-minute session is ideal. However, if relaxation is the primary goal, slightly longer sessions can be enjoyable.
Additional Benefits: Vibro-Acoustic Massage
One of the standout features of the Ovation bed is its integrated vibro-acoustic frequency massage, which enhances relaxation and overall therapeutic experience. Many users find it so calming that they are reluctant to leave after a session. This deep relaxation effect also eliminates the need for post-treatment vibration plate therapy, as the frequency massage provides similar benefits.
A key distinction between OvationULT and others
It’s important to clarify that the Ovation bed is a red light therapy system, not an infrared sauna. Unlike beds that use heating elements to induce full-body vasodilation, the Ovation focuses purely on light energy to stimulate cellular function and recovery.
For those interested in experiencing the OvationULT bed, locations are available in most major cities. I can help you connect. If you’re looking for a powerful yet deeply relaxing red light therapy experience, this bed offers a unique and effective solution.
A BUNCH OF WARNINGS BELOW FOR THOSE PLANNING TO BUY OVATIONULT!
Read this section carefully before making a purchase decision of the OvationULT.
A Different Red Light Therapy Experience
Clients who are accustomed to standard red light therapy beds will immediately notice the difference when they step onto an OvationULT bed. The intensity of this system sets it apart, delivering a unique experience unlike lower-powered alternatives. (For a comparison of how different power levels—ranging from 10mW to 68mW—feel over a 30-minute session, refer to my dedicated guide.)
Unlike some therapy beds that induce deep relaxation to the point of sleep, the OvationULT is designed for a more invigorating experience—especially during a 10-minute session. The heightened power output ensures that users remain alert and engaged throughout the treatment, making it an entirely different sensation from what they may be used to.
Understanding the TRUE Power of the OvationULT Bed
The Ovation bed operates at five times the intensity of systems like LightStim and NovoTHOR, making it one of the most powerful red light therapy devices available. Because of this heightened strength, users may experience detox-related effects, including lipolysis (fat breakdown), as the body responds to the treatment.
Why You Shouldn’t Start with a 20-Minute Session
For first-time users, a full 20-minute session is not recommended. If a user starts with baseline cellular voltage below 200mV, an extended session can trigger a Herxheimer reaction - a temporary worsening of symptoms due to the body rapidly eliminating toxins.
Additionally, some users may experience an overstimulation effect. When cells are energized too quickly, the liver may struggle to supply enough glucose, and without adequate oxygen uptake, this can lead to an unintended reverse effect—potentially leaving the user feeling depleted instead of revitalized.
To maximize benefits while minimizing potential side effects, it’s best to start with a shorter session and gradually increase exposure over time.
It's easy to overdo red light therapy with the Ovation bed. Exceeding the optimal dose can eliminate its benefits, making less always better than more. Share the brand and irradiance of your bed, and I can recommend the ideal session length for maximum absorption.
Another point to note is that, one cannot take a second session too soon after the first one. For example, if you thought you will take a 4-hour or 6-hour break and then be back for a second session, it won't work. The body cells need to go back to the same starting conditions in terms of electro-chemical resistance before you can do the second session, which will take at least till the next day. The electro-chemical process inside the body is responsible for all the impacts that ultimately get delivered to the body. You need to respect that. If not obvious, give me a short call and I shall explain it all in under 5 minutes.
The Ovation bed conveniently plugs into a standard 110V outlet, unlike older red light beds that required 20A or even 30A outlets. Modern designs have moved away from high-power requirements, and for good reason. Beds running on 20A+ circuits tend to overheat, making long sessions uncomfortable - especially when the circuit board gets too hot against the back. If a red light bed still demands that much power, it's worth questioning why.
The Ovation is the first red light bed designed without fans, as it is designed to eliminate the excess wasted heat found in most other brands. On traditional beds, the heat isn’t from the red or near-infrared light - it’s from the bulky circuitry beneath the LEDs. Older models weighed up to 800 pounds and required extensive electrical circuitry to operate.
Modern advancements have made red light beds lighter and more efficient, reducing the need for excessive circuitry. Personally, I prefer a bed with a low-heat circuit board beneath the LEDs to ensure a comfortable and effective session. OvationULT stands out in this aspect.

NOTICE FOR THE CONSUMER: CLASS ACTION
GET A REFUND FOR A LIGHT UNIT (BED/POD/PAD) THAT MISREPRESENTED ITS INTENSITY CLAIMS.
Companies are overstating diode output by more than five times the actual level. They measure under the plastic cover or use uncalibrated methods, such as solar power meters instead of red light meters. "The FTC Act prohibits unfair or deceptive advertising in any medium. That is, advertising must tell the truth and not mislead consumers."
If your red light bed fails to deliver the advertised intensity, federal law (and often state laws) entitles you to a refund, financial compensation, or a return.
